GCCS PreK and Elementary Art Teacher Characteristics and Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with certification in art education or in process of receiving a certification in art education.

• Plan, ready, and deliver art lessons for Preschool through Grade 5 students.
• Develop and refine fine art curriculum based on Louisiana's state standards.
• Establish a balanced fine art programme, and organize daily class time and so that preparation, and instruction tin be achieved inside the allotted time.
• Integrate engineering science effectively into educational activity.
• Differentiate art lessons to meet the needs of the individual student and the student trunk.
• Implement techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
• Participate in faculty meetings, school committees and in‐service learning opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration.
• Evaluate each student's growth and development.
• Establish and maintain standards of student beliefs to provide an orderly, productive environment.
• Maintain care and responsibility for school-owned materials and equipment to prevent loss or misuse.
• Communicate clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.
• Collaborate and work with the chief and staff in providing art for showcases.
• Embrace responsibilities and is flexible to alter.
• Demonstrate empathy and pity towards students and their families.

• Complete tasks and responsibilities with a positive, diligent, and professional attitude.
